It's not me who was stalked, it's someone who came to me about having felt like they were stalked.
This morning my best nursing student at the community college where I teach came to class freaked out. She's a really happy person day to day who lives with a smile on her face, so it was obvious something wrong had happened to make her scared like that. It turned out that she'd just come from printing off her final paper for my class in our college library, and while there, a guy she didn't know had propositioned her.
She's happily married with two little kids, so her answer was no. As happens sometimes, though, the guy, didn't take no for an answer. He followed her across campus from the library to our building and to class. As she reported all of this to me, she pointed out that the guy was still in our building, waiting right outside our classroom looking in on her in a way that was giving her the creeps.
At that I just sprang into action, then. I got another one of the women in the class to take this guy's picture without his seeing her so that I could use the photo to identify him to campus police. Next I went to our campus chief of security and reported the whole incident, photo and all, as a case of on-campus stalking.
It turns out that, according to our campus chief of security, this individual has been reported for an earlier separate such incident already. He was issued a warning by campus police then, so this report was treated with a lot of care.
I want to thank folks here at DS PTSD for believing me when I've told my trauma story here about how I got PTSD. That's how I was prepared to be ready to invest that same kind of credibility in a student's story when she came to me as a teacher. By the way, another student of mine told me today that she joined us here at DS because she heard of the kind of support folks give each other here. Pretty awesome.
Please say prayers or send good thoughts of support to this student of mine who was pretty shaken up by feeling stalked today. She's in crisis about it.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

At my community college there are cameras everywhere. Still I carry the campus police's number written on top of my cell on a sticky label, so I don't have to fumble around to look in the address folder to access the number.
(((John. I was going to the movies and he invited himself along, then decided it was a date. Even to the point of pushing me BACKWARDS in order hold the door open for me. REALLY? Worse, Dan, somehow decided he was jealous over it. (I am NOT the sort that men get jealous over.) It was bizarre.)))
A friend had to quit her job, get a PO Box, and move. Not fun.

My family was abusive and living in war zones was their real mission because the chaos provided them with cover. Since emancipating myself from them, they have sent ex-FBI agents to stalk me at work.
Yep, I said ex-FBI agents. I reported one of them to my Human Resources department, though, as workplace harassment, and got it to stop. Then the ex-FBI agent stopped me one day off campus in the street, and I told him personally where to go. It felt good.
It felt good to stand up for this student, too. I hope she's feeling better herself now.
If not I would have the campus police call them.... Stalkers can be a really dangerous bunch and there can be pretty severe mental illness going on.....
That is their reality.... This sounds really creepy.....xo
