Hello everyone!
I think I am making progress. After attending support groups and talking about my trauma I have finally been making progress with my PTSD. I have a terrible fear of men. If they make sudden moves towards me I panic. But yesterday I was in the hospital with a male doctor who I did not try to actually fight when he reached to touch me. I have hit several male doctors before. Fortunately they have been understanding somewhat. One refused to treat me afterwards,
But yesterday I did not panic. I had anxiety, but I did not melt down or resort to violence. I calmly breathed through it and stayed focused on my surroundings like a therapist taught me to do.
I think this is a really big step.

Upon his departure, he remarked, "I am in many people’s pockets; no one will believe you." Have you ever grappled with the silence that follows sexual assault, where the perceived impossibility of being believed necessitates self-censorship?

Congratulations:-)
