I teach school, and I know others here do, too, plus others here go to school. This week we go back to school where I live.

I just wanted to offer good vibes, wishes, solidarity, and prayers to one and all and stand willing to accept them, too. It can get a little stressful and even scary at times if the stress triggers our PTSD.

At those times it sometimes takes a busload of faith to get by, as Lou Reed once put it. But it sure is a great to be able to work and study again.

I've had times when I couldn't, when I was in the hospital, so I'm grateful. Blessings, everybody.

How soon do you find out?

Found out today. Mixed results. The good: yay! I do have a little uptick in kidney function--up to 53%. That's moving a little more away from dialysis and, worse, transplant. Also, my diabetes blood sugar level is rock steady, from keeping on the strict diet & exercise.

The bad: I have high blood pressure for the first time ever, but it's treatable with pills. I have some small internal bleeding, though, that I have to see a surgeon about next week. Hope it's just something minor in the gastrointestinal tract.

I let my boss know I might have to miss one class next week to see the surgeon. She's tough--I took zero sick days this past semester, and she still told me the story of a colleague before me I never met. This colleague got cancer and supposedly worked until the day she died of it. Hm. Doesn't sound like the kind of standard-setting that's very flexible to work with me on this. Oh well, we'll see about next week.
