Rockets red glare bombs bursting in air
Hey, all, I'm just hours away from getting back on a plane to the USA. It was a frustrating visit here to Mexico. It would have been easier on me if I'd just broken my stupid ankle. Bones heal faster than soft tissue. So I never could get around town here in San Cristobal, even though the hotel staff was super nice to me and ordered out for crutches.
Crutches or not, I'll be back in Mexico for Christmas. Hopefully, in 2 years, for good. Allow me to vent for a moment, though.
VENT WARNING
During this, my 6th visit to the same hotel here in San Cristobal, everything was wonderful except for one thing. Some kid on the block bought a lifetime supply of bottle rockets. So this trip, he was setting off bottle rockets the whole time I was here. Like all day, and then during the night, too. He woke me up at 6am with one.
Don't mean to actually be violent, but I must confess that I wanted to find that guy and give him a good whack with one of my crutches. Of course, I never went looking for him, but his bottle rockets were hard to take. I'm a civilian war veteran, and as I've written many times and wrote about here again today, I survived a car bombing when I was 9 years old. So BOOM BOOM is not my favorite sound.
OK, VENT OVER
People at my hotel were really nice to me, and they couldn't help what went on off of their hotel's property. The constant bottle rockets bugged them too, and they said so to me. So I wasn't alone, and as I learned here, knowing that's always half the battle.
Anybody else have a neighbor who triggers you?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Oh,so sorry you had to endure that, and that it triggered you so badly....
i have a neighbour who had been sexually harassing me for a long time, until i finally complained.
i still hate it when i happen to see him in the hallway...
Right now my PTSD is flaring due to a peeping tom at this new cottage we've been moving into.... ughhhh. &%@#!&*%$#*^$%@#!%^$*%^%$#+_~@&$
I've had neighbors who can trigger me. I've had to sometimes live a few years next to them, and ... Yeah. I get it.
Oh bother. . .
i'm so sorry this kid did this and so much during your whole time there :(
gentle hugs xo
Yea, all the many places I’ve lived, different apartment complexs & stuff definitely had more than fair share of triggering neighbors. Fireworks trigger me because they remind me of gun shots & aggravate my migraines
Sending you lots of support & gentle hugs <3
I hate loud noises too. When i was living in Hawaii Chinese New Year and other holidays was a real trigger i get very angry with loud noises.
As you know i am in Mexico too right now. They party till the cows come down around where i stay on weekends
. I have called the cops and sometimes they do shut them up others they try and IF they don't then they have told me there is nothing more they can do. To make a complaint to some offices..blah..blah.I never tried it but maybe for a few bucks they make sure they shut the F up....but is "iffy" always to offer money, it depends on the cops.
Some seem very professional by the book. Others seem like AH like "why are you bothering me?".....
If when you go back happens again try the cops. Once i did explain to the cops in Mex that i suffer from severe insomnia they seemed very understanding and tried to shut the people up.
Partying in residential areas with music blasting, screaming, ect after 2 am should be banned, people blasting rockets too.
Its called consideration of others and frankly they lack it. But IF brought to their attention in a very nice way (I tried others ways and it did not turn good for me, they get very nationalistic and defensive of their traditions) they do need to change some things about their traditions like all countries.
Not all traditions are good and should be kept. That is a prob i have in Mexico that they do not get.
You sure have had a rough few weeks.... Gentle hug...….xo
