It works as a mood stabilizer. It gave me the stupids. It only causes me to brain fart on names now.
...give the med a month. you just started it . See if you feel as stoned on it by the end of the month, because a lot of the time?
These initial effects clear.
OK?
valgal makes excellent points about your doctor listening to you.
Please update us on this, ok?
Seriously, risperidone is pretty heavy duty. I thought it was mainly for schizophrenics, but I didn't see that on your little profile.
Why were you put on that, if you don't mind me asking?
Those are more typical for harm OCD, which is what (happy) posted about earlier.
...If you hit someone with your car, your car would be all banged up too.
It is a long story? But my brother hit a man who jumped in front of his car. ( The man sued my brother...and the judge actually told the guy he was an idiot in court... Anyway...)
The man wasn't seriously injured, and my brother's windshield was just completely caved in, the guy flattened it.
So if you hit anything, at any speed, there would have been some sort of body damage to the car.
If you tried to hurt anyone, there would be body damage to YOU. Getting in a fight hurts afterward!
...So there's no real evidence that you did anything bad in the period you can't remember, alright?
Absent that evidence, it is your brain cooties telling you that you might have hurt someone, NOT reality.
...I say this as someone who has hallucinations. So I have to reality-check. My brain plays tricks on me.
...Right now, your brain is telling you something that is almost certainly A LIE. People with harm OCD are usually VERY GOOD PEOPLE.
You are a good person. This is why the lie your brain is telling you is so disturbing.
Got it?
