My father was my primary abuser that brought me here with my PTSD. He died in December 2018, and as with your and your father, we'd had a falling out and never made amends. In my case it's not my father's sister who is greedy and pulling stuff, it's my own sister.

Sorry you're going through this, Tough, it's all too familiar. You and I didn't win the luck of the draw when we were dealt our family cards. If there's a heaven I hope there's a Wikipedia Angel there with all of the answers because I'd like to know what folks like us ever did to deserve this stuff. Sending you support! I agree with the above posts. Every death in my family has involved the greedy relatives making things harder. Hang in there, this will pass.

Unless your father left you money you don't have to pay for this I don't think.... The state would pay for it if you can't afford to

If you had your father who abandoned you live at your home (something very nice), you may not owe anything. I think in these situations its important to be calm and non-accusatory. Tell the sister, I understand this is hard, but unfortunately I have very limited funds, and can only contribute x. Not saying you or anyone else has to do more, but this is all I can do. .

If your dad had no saving or insurance try applying to DHS for burial help. Here they over about 1600. Minimal. I hate to think what the "aunt" is doing because I have seen too many of these fights. Normally the living spouse, children, parents then siblings are the order line of recipients of any unstated funds. I'm sorry this sounds like a probate case.
