Charley Rose, the PBS interview person, had a show one night where he convened a panel of highly successful people from the business world to explore the question of success and what's needed to find it.
Their consensus was clear. They all repeatedly failed at what they did, and often failed spectacularly. What distinguished them was their attitude. Instead of giving up, they always cleared away the wreckage and tried again. It's really that simple.
