Need your therapist and Dominos's on speed dial?
Seriously food is comfort, It's something we can control. So whether binge-ing or abstaining, we choose. Because we need the comfort.
I keep old water by my side. If I feel hungry...but my body is not sending that same message. I drink the water. If I am still hungry then I make something to eat. I get munchies, when I shop but not often...too handy. Also problem fast food. Every thing is double the calories and salt. Cooking from scratch takes longer, but also helps me decide whether it's real hunger.
Grab a bottle of water, Cheers. Then wait and see if you are still hungry?
I dont bing, but rather starve. I was diagnosed with EDNOS, too, and was hospitalized for it in high school. Sometimes its hard to tell what really counts as relapse for me. It's only a little bit, right? I just "forget."
At least forgetting is what I tell myself.
In times its gotten really scary for me, Ive started logging all the food I eat. There's an iphone app I have, road to recovery, that also helps track eating disorder emotions / behaviors. I think it may be for android too. I think theres a computer version. Maybe something like that can help.
Im hoping to find a ED therapist that also does CPTSD when I move.
