PTSD and this goldurned cold still

Ok, everybody knows I took 2 days off last month to get antibiotics for this walking pneumonia that came on fast from just a cold. My boss had been wary of my taking sick days for PTSD a couple of years ago (6 total) so I'd had a perfect record last year. Zero sick days. So I didn't want to take the 2 for this cold thing, yet with support from here common sense prevailed and I did.

By that weird dx I think an upper respiratory infection is what's really meant. Barking cough still, yellow effusion from stuffy head.

I've gone back to work, thankfully, but it's back this weekend Really?
Just writing to vent a Grrrrr.

Yes, I went back to the doc for a 2nd time for more antibiotics after the first round. She didn't prescribe any more antibiotics.

I think I'm going to go to the urgent care clinic and a different doc. I don't mean to be a pill seeking patient, but it's antibiotics, not stimulants. And this has gone on and on.

Thanks. I did it. I went to the doctor for more antibiotics, this time stronger. It ought to do the job. So I'll take a sick day tomorrow and rest, and go into work Tuesday.

It's been three weeks, and although I'm not coughing any more, my voice still isn't 100% back. I all but entirely lost it the day of back to school night.

I have to be deathly ill to go to the doctor, so I didn't go this time. I was downing honey, ginger tea I make, Nyquil at night... With the younger kids and getting a sub, it's easier just to go and suffer through. You're lucky you can take off when you can. I think 6 vs 0 balances it out. Get a dr's not each time and you should be golden.

Your superior sounds like a jerk who's borderline breaking the law. Let's stress out a person who has ptSTRESSd. Nice.

Deli, sounds like your cold is dragging on, too. Sorry you can't take off. I'm off today, and I did like you said and got a doctor's note to cover myself. Big time. In writing, this is not PTSD, it's upper respiratory infection.

Yes, there are ways people can "help" you to then label you and "offer" you to leave your job and take disability. Actually bending the ADA law that's meant to help you to use it to marginalize you. So every bit of this recovery from this head and chest infection is getting documented. Later on I go out to fill that antibiotic prescription.

Hope you get better, Deli. I'm thinking of your school work now but also of your big family trip abroad coming up. Riding for hours in a plane at 30,000 feet with a harsh head cold is no fun. Get well soon.
