A few months ago I experienced a death of someone really close to me, I unfortunaly walked in and found this person unresponsive, I dont remember much from that moment besides the frantic 911 call, and calls to family, ever since the funeral I have been so overwhelmed with the fear that something horrific is going to happen to me or someone else close to me. My boyfriend will itch his ear and his head will move and I automatically think he might be convulsing or something because I am so terrified of something else happening to me or someone that I am with. I have extreme health anxiety due to this incident, and I cant stop myself from going to thr ER even when someone else tells me I am fine and that I am a healthy 20 yr old. I sometimes put my hand on my boyfriends back or chest when we lay down at night and hes asleep just to make sure hes still breathing, I am wondering if these issues stem from PTSD or if I am just flouded with anxiety.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

with your questions, for me, when i had much the same questions, the only things that helped me move forward, were going to some specialists who could help me find answers.
it is very good that you came here as we can be here with you and for you while you figure things out. we are good company and we understand. gentle hugs
I believe we need to not worry about the future, as the worry tends to steal our enjoyment of the present. Our worry does no good but cause us anguish. I have to remind myself of this... often at 2 or 3 in the morning.
I do not want to live a life of fear. For me, it has been a conscious choice that I have to keep reminding myself of.
I wish you the best.
I was a nurse and have found a lot of people passed when working in internal medicine and it always effected me even when I was expecting it
I agree that working on getting 'worry' under some control will be a great gift to yourself
Whether people have a faith or not I think the words of the Serenity Prayer are so impactful
'grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
change the things I can
and have the wisdom to know the difference'
If you can get into some therapy it could help you to work through this
Grounding techniques can help you right away to get out of that panic'y' place
DS is a good site.... I'm glad that you've found us..... Big hug.....xo
we don't know, we cannot tell as we are not professionals - but we do know how we found out that our paths of best help were to drs who specialised in trauma.
you have checked out all physical possibilities and that's good.
it isn't easy to go to a new dr, but it makes sense. you are worth it.
more gentle hugs
It was so heavy that I kept up a Thursday therapy appointment just for me every week so I could get through it myself, and be there for them every day. I really recommend that. I still see a shrink; I just had my appointment with him this week. We all need support, and a professional's the best.
