OT-Judy Collins sang to me live tonight-for real
I didn't mention it here earlier because I wasn't sure I was in the physical shape to pull it off. My kidney disease's nerve damage to my legs has been progressing. Though I've walked with a cane for years and have made it to work and have made it to and from Mexico this year, for the past 3 weeks walking has gotten really painful. Limping along on dying nerves gingerly feels like walking on massive bruises on the soles of both feet.
It's been bad.
But on Saturday I drove myself to DC anyway, and I parked at the end of the subway line that goes to the Kennedy Center. I'd bought an expensive ticket for one of my solo adventures to sit front row center at the Pete Seeger tribute they were putting on there. If I couldn't make it up and down the subway's escalators and elevators to catch the subway train to the show, so be it, but I was going to try.
It turns out that I did fall down a flight of escalator stairs at one of my subway stations. A nearby passenger on the subway platform ran over and pressed the emergency stop button so the escalator's metal steps wouldn't chew me up much. A subway policeman ran over and helped me up. The escalator's metal step's teeth had cut into my shin, but I could go on.
I made it to the Kennedy Center on time and I sat in my seat front and center. Then Judy Collins herself came on stage and sang Joni Mitchell's song "Both Sides Now" right in front of me live. A tear of joy rolled down my cheek, it was so beautiful.

Roger McGuinn sang "Turn Turn Turn" and Rosanne Cash blew me away singing right in front of me, too. I didn't quite have the strength to make it to the end of the show and I had to leave, so I missed Peter and Paul of the old folk trio Peter, Paul, and Mary. But I had a heavenly time.
On the subway back a bunch of hockey fans had all of the seats, so I had to ride standing up leaning on my cane with my shin bleeding for quite a while. But I made it, and I got to have a bucket list moment--to have Judy Collins sing right to me.
Thank you all for the support I get here to go beyond my PTSD agoraphobia and my CKD neuropathy in my legs to get out and have experiences, in spite of all, out there in the world.

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.
