I'm not a doctor, but you sound like you are grieving. PTSD is usually from trauma. Not saying that losing a loved one's not traumatic, but PTSD is a different beast.
I'm not a fan of meds. Better to deal with your grief than medicate. Have you ever had panic attacks before the Zoloft?
two, some meds can have side effects such as this. You should report this to your doctor, it may just be an adjustment is needed.
Grieving can give you panic attack , hyperventilating to avoid the crying...if it is a person this close to you. A Dad is a big part of your life.
I read that you cried at first, but since then, have not faced it head on. Talking with a grief councilor will help.
My best Jewells.
