As I work to untangle the psycho snot knots attached to the Masked Social Distances of Coronaville, I find myself making tons of excuses for maintaining my strictly personal social distances born of my childhood conditioning within the kiddie whorehouses. A recurring phrase within those phrases is, "She/he/it is nothing but. . ." With that synopsis, I have the ideal excuse for continuing my isolation, even as I feel it compressing into repression and denial.
I am not quite what is niggling at me here. Am I making sense?
My two eldest foster children start 2nd grade and kindergarten next Wednesday. They are excited to beat the band. My social anxiety is off the charts. I am almost grateful the usual get-to-know-you activities have been suspended again this year. Almost. That almost gratitude has my Pre-Corona psychotherapy nag flags snapping in a stiff breeze.
Again I leave the mood icon on the rapid cycling median. I am fine. How are you?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I can barely remember how I felt pre Corona virus it's been so long.... I hope that we'll return to a more normal world without this terrible virus before much longer
I am pretty fine as well ... Thanks sweetie... xo
Hugs and prayers, jobbie
Kudos to you for doing such a good job with your dear grandchildren. It must be so hard and so rewarding at the same time.
I've taken to calling my GKs, "foster kids" because the grandma stereotypes and platitudes are a harsh reminder of just how much we have lost. I miss being a real grandmother, complete with a middle generation to hand them back to after I'm done spoiling them rotten. Grandma joys aren't so simple with the daily demands of providing structure, socialization, etc. The kids, of course, miss having a Mommy, Daddy and stereotypical grandparents.
I envy my fellow seniors who get to do Coronaville in the style Doctor Fauci intended. Coronaville has been/is brutal in its disregard for the physically young and healthy.
