Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Support Group
Find support with others who have gone through a traumatic experience. Whether you have chronic or acute PTSD, we are here for you.

I am having a difficult time coping with daily life because of my PTSD from my childhood. Winter is hard for me because as a child I was thrown out of the house. I was left on the steps and stayed there for the night in freezing temps. Night after night. Frozen in a ball on the steps, like a stray animal. Stepped over in the morning, on their way to work. I have worked through it for many years now. But, sometimes it creeps up when I least expect it. Others do not understand. How could someone comprehend? I do not tell the story it is unbeleivable. The serenity prayer does not work sometimes after you have said it a hundreds of times.

Do you think having anxiety could lead into depression? What are your thoughts?

Is here for your viewing pleasure! Mom and I have some errands to run. Camera is up so I can check in on Copper puppy while we are out. Let's see how that goes. How are you today?

Welcome to the group
(unless you’re not new & I’m being an airhead because as I started writing this I feel like I’ve seen your name before) anyway -
I’m so sorry what you have been through, I’m glad you reached out so we can give you support.
I come from a really tough childhood into adulthood actually. I very much understand when you say, how could someone comprehend, that what you went through is unbelievable. I can’t even explain the looks of shock of have gotten even from some therapists about my childhood. I want you to know that I believe you and you have my support. You are seen heard & matter.
I hope I made sense, I’m having a tough day myself & sometimes I ramble a little.
Sending support, strength & many prayers
Big hug <3
i encourage myself to get creative in the mixing, matching and customizations of any and all my therapy tools. healing takes what it takes and every healing journey is unique.
I hope you feel better.
@Peaches - Thanks. I live in the south our winters are not long. Extended family lives here. My parents are dead. My mom has been dead for half of my life. I've spent years dealing with the traumas that invade my normal life sometimes. When you grow up in abusive relationships you think it is the norm. Grateful for your support.
Sending you gentle hugs, prayers, and support :)
@emc2 - appreciate your support
I will always be here to support you when you want to talk, let it out. Some people especially a few in my family do not believe in Post-traumatic stress, they think it is a cop-out, but not me.
