I struggle most times at nighttimes---my anxiety is high cause nighttime is much harder for me. When the sun goes down my anxiety rises and have a hard time going to bed.
The past 2 nights have been hard for me for some reason and can not figure out why. What has helped was sleeping with a doll and a blanket.
Am, I crazy to do this even though it is helpfull.

How could anything that works, and makes you feel better be wrong. Do whatever you need to do. Sleep tight.

I know what you mean. Nighttime is very hard on me and I sleep with a teddy bear so No, your not crazy.

I read your profile. You sound like we've been through some of the same things. Not long ago I was sleeping on the couch and was only comfroted when I had a stuffed bear with me. I accept it. My inner child is hurting. She needs stuff and I'm going to give it to her. We were injured as children and sometimes we fall back through that hole in time that takes us there. Hold on. Is night associated with some abuse? Does keeping a light on help? Incense? Candle? Anything to soothe yourself and get you back to a more adult state so yu can cope with life. Do you have a therapist? I can get free therapy around here in a pinch by dialing 211. There are people there trained to listen, but they're not therapists. Do the best you can right now. Write it down. Maybe you'll find the association with the dark and you childhood fears and trauma. Helps me. I wish you well.

I have a soft squishy pillow that goes everywhere with me. The tactile stimulation is grounding for me. Nothing wrong with needing something to hold while your sleeping.

I have a tiny little chihuahua cross who sleeps on my bed and dotes on me. I think she must have the same purpose sometimes. And she interacts, I love her dearly. What works, works. Hugs

I should say though about the dog - you can't put it down and ignore it whenever you want tho. More responsibility than a teddy bear lol

I hate a small stuffed animal and a large one too. Both are tucked in my closet, waiting to be used whenever I need them. You are never too old to want comfort. Happy you found something that works.

Sorry, not I hate... I have

I recently got a service dog for my PTSD, have to agree with #6 that he gives the same comfort as my pillow, only he wakes me at the start of a nightmare. He goes everywhere with me too. Bently is the best thing that has happened to me in so long.
