Hi there,
Why am I here, briefly
I have struggled with PTSD since I was a child and suffered trauma of a rape when I was 7. Then again at 17. Left pregnant by my first husband after 12 years... and later married a man with BPD who had three suicide attempts in two years. By this time I was in a hell of a mess!
My story is a sordid tale of struggles, confusion and poor decisions looking for acceptance.all fought off with confusion and the ignorance of my condition - I thought everyone was like me. It wasn't until I was growing up that I realised I reacted differently to others and didn't realise the consequences of my early abuse.
jeeez, we all have our stories eh. Im sure there are others on here whose stories are far worse than mine.
Well I am here to learn how to cope and react differently to situations.
I get the shakes quite badly most of the time and in my sleep., which can cause some issues with my husband! I get days when I cannot face the world and make excuses so I can hide away. Mostly my days are filled with anxiety and panic.
To me this is normal, its only recently I realised I can help myself by understanding and seeking support., also for my Co-Dependency issues too.
but I go on in my quest for peace!
Hi to everyone.

Upon his departure, he remarked, "I am in many people’s pockets; no one will believe you." Have you ever grappled with the silence that follows sexual assault, where the perceived impossibility of being believed necessitates self-censorship?

It's not about the size or type of trauma, but the effects they leave on you. We are all here because of those effects. There are many here that have hit some of those same realizations here, even the same paths at times (hand up)
I hope this helps you as much as it has helped me here.
Gentle hugs,

I hope I can contribute here too.
