I saw today on my bank's site notice that I have two auto deposits pending tomorrow--my missing Social Security pension checks for February and March.  It looks as if my following your suggestion here to do as the video link she sent me said paid off.  It said that lots of US retirees here in Mexico were suddenly required to fill out an SSA7121 form we were never told about.  On the form it says that if not filled out in 60 days, our checks would be cut off.  But 60 days from when, if we never even heard about it?  When I got the form it turned out to be a proof of life form, basically saying we're not dead, we're just out of the country.  The whole thing was stupid.

However, if that notice at my bank is true, tomorrow it'll be all over.  My caretaker's been really patient through this.  We spent her daughter's scholarship money for groceries, which bothered me.  Tomorrow I get to pay her back.  She didn't resent it for a minute, and she really could have.  She's a good girl.

Thank goodness. Finally. Last October it was paperwork with my state pension office that held THAT check up for 6 weeks, and now it's been paperwork with the federal pension office. I have a private pension, too, that I paid into for 40 years. I hope no office worker gets a whim to demand more paperwork from that one now. I'd like to have a break from pension paperwork now and just live on the retirement earnings I worked so hard for over 45 years. Fingers crossed.
