machines are the least of my worries. whether we will still be here by the time we crack the A.I. code is what i worry about. screw the machines, it's man that we should worry about.
In 2004 Michigan was part of 5 states that lost power for several days due to a breakdown in the electrical grid. We survived it.
I can cook without an electrical ignition stove, I can read without a tablet I can hunt and prep my bounty.
Life would have challenges but not insurmountable. I would use my abilities to create workable alternatives. Just as mankind has time to make alternate decisions. It just depends on where they put that energy into.
Developing our strengths is where the change will come from.
I am a sci-fi addict, so I find the site interesting, but not an absolute conclusion.
The machines do not trouble me. A knife is just a pointy object. It is only a weapon when a human makes that choice. And yes, humans can be very short-sighted and even downright stupid. But to me, the fear of machines taking over is the same as the fear of the living dead zombies (film style). It's being subsumed into something with a loss of individuality. We with PTSD are survivors of fights to stay alive, to stay *us*, so to me, it's pretty natural to have a fear of that kind.
NO idea if that made sense.
