His behavior is very similar to that of my ex husband and my current fiance's. He used to be more aggressive though, I'll give him that, but damn he's turning into his father or he's acting more and more like him and showing it to me. He's becoming manipulative, possessive and controlling as well as very selfish and disrespectful of women he's with. I think maybe he's been like this for a long time but it's getting more out of control and he doesn't realize what he's doing. The only thing he's not doing is being physically violent that I've seen with his gf, but I haven't asked her that either yet. So, I'm wondering if it should ask her or leave it alone. Her and I have a decent friendship and van pretty much tall about anything.
He is bringing back bad memories of when my ex and I were together in the sense of his verbal and emotional mental abuse and some of what my fiance has been doing too. The thing though that sets all thtee of them apart is he is a method head and my ex husband, his bio father did cracking and drank like a fish and my fiance doesn't do any of those things. He can't cuz he's got a kidney disease and takes blood pressure medications.
So my anxiety is and has been elevated due to all that I guess but also because of other personal health reasons too.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Before I was a parent, I thought that all aggressive behavior had to be taught (as though kids come into this world perfectly behaved...pfft!) Then I thought that a few simple rules applied consistently would be easy and produce basic good kids (pfft!!!).
Now I've been through it, and know that it's infinitely harder than that. And I just fumble along and make my guesses for what's best, and make it through the day.
I wish you ALL the best as you figure out what's best for yourself and your family.
I get the trigger thing. There's little mannerisms that will remind me either of my ex or my parents. And it's not so easy to tell immaturity that the kids will grow out of from hard core character traits, especially when half of the world told me that I was too rough on my kids and the other half said that I was too lenient.
So as I said, Heartfelt Hugs as you figure it out, Patti
Fortunately, it shocked me into action, and I got into therapy and stopped the cycle. I went too far, really, in my panic. I had a vasectomy to be sure I wouldn't be a father like my father, just in case the therapy didn't work.
It did, so when I found I was good with kids after all, unlike my dad, I did something about it even though I couldn't be a parent, I decided to be a teacher.
I hope your son comes to the awareness we all have to come to in the next generation following an abuser so he doesn't just repeat the cycle. Much support to you.
