she's been spiraling since father's death. So triggered by her. She's been demanding and difficult. Started letting her ride with us to dance class because I thought it might help her with etiquette. Noticed how she gets too close when she is talking to people: saw one of the guys wince! She is so fragile I don't know how to bring it up. She's also been putting herself in dangerous situations with online dating and I can't hear about it. As soon as a man actually shows interest in her she drops him; I think she just wants to feel desired and doesn't want a relationship. It's also creepy that my mom and brother are kind of acting like a married couple, but at least they have each other? Surely nothing physical is going on. I remember she used to sit on the sofa and he would bite her arm, not hard, but for several minutes. He was a child!! What the hell?? And she would scratch her vagina with a comb in the living room in front of us! I understand she's also a victim of my uncle, and she suffered from yeast infections, but none of that was okay! Also triggered because she met some guy near where my uncles live and dropped in on them for a visit. My uncle is a geologist and he lets my other uncle live with him; he and his wife see him as "special needs" in spite of his sex crimes. I think he's manipulating them. XYY men have slightly below intelligence and are violent; but he was labeled "retarded."
I would never tell mother I was assaulted recently ; she is already very insensitive about what my uncle did to me. It's hard to feel that I have to be her shoulder to cry on for these internet dating situations she is willingly seeking in spite of all my warnings!!! I wish I could be free sometimes.

Mornings or Nights?*You can’t say both (or neither), or add stipulations, or make substitutions- just commit and pick one of the two choices!

I can't seem to define the ^it^ I wish to be free of, but. . .
Wishing with you, DS.
Okay
Triple hugs x ten
In this brief but pointed post, you have hit something at the core of me. I know that feeling of caring for family while knowing it is not good for me. It was a long decision process over a few years for me, to get that wish for that particular freedom to move from the wish to a guilt free action to keep myself safer. I do know our situations are different, but here is hugs and support for you while your situation unfolds for you. I hope you are in at least a safer place physically. Hugs
IDK....your mother's lack of boundaries just made me wonder.
Whatever the reason, it seems clear that she has a lifelong history of impaired judgement.
