When you are better, I suggest you consult with an orthopedic surgeon about your back.
I have been through this back pain issue with doctors too. They kept saying it was my weight. It wasn't. I had a pars defect. It's actually a birth defect and it's an area of the spine that weakens over time. In my case it fractured. Was my weight a compounding factor? Possibly. But in my case, that area needed to be fused. It didn't matter what I weighed. I had it at birth.
I went to 3 neurosurgeons who misdiagnosed me. Finally went to an orthopedic surgeon who correctly diagnosed me. I highly suggest you seek out an reputable orthopedic surgeon and get a consult.
Also regarding weight loss surgery, that's a personal decision. I had it shortly before my back pain got bad. Had I not had it and lost that weight, my recovery would have been 100x harder. In the end, it's up to you and only you because it's your body.
Big hug.
