meditation share - acceptance

with the passing of the 3rd anniversary of my son's death, i have been psychopating like a beaten crazy bitch wolf. i have been all over the proverbial map with my emotions, etc. one of last week's meditation reads has been resonating with me loudly enough that i thought i'd reinforce the meditation, gently edited to fit this diverse community, by typing it out here.
************begin quote***********
when i first started on my healing journey, i thought that anger, resentment, jealousy, and fear were "bad" feelings. healing has helped me to learn that feelings are neither good nor bad --they are simply part of who i am.
i have come to realize that good has sometimes come as a result of those feelings. anger has prompted some constructive changes in my life. resentment has made me so uncomfortable that i have had to learn to combat it --as a result i have learned how to pray for other people. jealousy has taught me to keep my mouth shut when i know i will say irrational, destructive things. and fear has been perhaps my greatest gift because it forces me to make conscious contact with my higher power.
now that the negative has become the positive, i am better able to accept the whole picture. there is no more need to judge or hate myself just because i experience a human feeling
today's reminder
feelings may not be comfortable, but that doesn't make them bad. with a change of attitude, i have choices about what to do with my feelings. anything can be used for my good if i allow it. recogniziing this opportunity may take every ounce of imagination i have, but maybe that's why god gave me imagination to begin with.
my feelings are neither right nor wrong but important by virtue of being mine.
************end quote***************
today i leave the mood icon squarely on "okay." methinks the episode is stablizing
thank you for the space to share. open discussion. thoughts, opinions, hyper-links and unsolicited advice welcome.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Your discussion Arfie reminded me of this quote.
I read and reread The Shack..... Even though it's 'a story' it has helped me a great deal.... I think you told me you've read it Arfie?
If not, it might help you as well.... Another big hug... xo
methinks the reminder is spot on. it is a well-explored theme in philosophy, religion and psychology. more and more, i swear by it.

thank you for the coincidental grin. you mentioned the movie a year or 4 back and i was not able to find it and forgot all about it. it recently showed up on netflix and i watched it while still not remembering your recommendation. i'm still grinning at connecting those two dots. thank you. i can now add my recommendation to yours. octavia spencer rocked my world as "papa." gooder than george burns and morgan freeman rolled into one.
Aqui contigo. Soy una loba loca tambien.
Thank you for sharing this meditation quote, I’m going to write it in my notebook
Sending support, hope & many prayers
Big hug <3
grief is, indeed, a mysterious process in which time has no meaning. god, please grant me patience. NOW GODDAMMIT! ! ! would that be the anger phase?
