There have been some major changes going down in the family dynamics since Eldest Son (36) started into his breakdown way back in December, 2015. I think. Sometimes I think there has been no change at all and I am just cycling through yet another round of enabler denial. Apologies to any who don't know that background, but I don't much feel like telling the story again this morning. I am trying to get a handle on my change anxiety. Change is so unpredictable. My life is riddled with examples of "Beneficial Change" souring into new and improved sets of problems.
It was a family packed weekend for me. Both adult sons and their significant others came and went in constant motion. I am not even certain who all is in the house as I type. Tough problems were discussed without undue friction to complicate them further. Babies were tended and loved while adults tended their own needs, as needed, without lacing them in guilt trips. That is not unprecidented, but it is rare. So far. The idealist in me wants to believe it is a sustainable evolution, but. . . Damned anxiety attacks. . .
This morning finds me drowning in "What if _____."
Change doesn't happen without risk, does it?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Yeah, change is risky. So is stasis. I hate change, b/c an insecure environment was a fear environment for me far too often.
"What if...." you don't drown?
