On Saturday I venture to lead a field trip with students in a van to a museum 2 hours away.
No big deal, but PTSD meds gave me permanent kidney damage, which gave me nerve damage in my feet. I either feel numb there which gives me clown shoe feet, or they burn like fire.
I want to do this for education purposes as a teacher, but I walk slowly if at all. I'll be sitting in coffee shops time and again for breaks. I hope I can communicate to my students that I just need to take it slow and easy. We'll see. Wish me luck.

Short notice, but a scavenger hunt of sorts? give them the names and key pieces to find and meet in a central area to compare notes on what they thought?
May this is the one time where the stereotypical student's inattention to their teacher can work to your advantage ;-)
Thing is, here I got geared up for the field trip day after tomorrow, and when I went to the class we organized it for 3 of my students had to drop out of the field trip today. One was a young student, reason unknown. But 2 are nontraditional students of mine, both in their 60s, both cancer survivors from cancer surgery November 2013.
They relapsed. With 3 people total dropping out of the field trip, we're postponing it so the 2 cancer survivors can go later on. But the reason having so much to do with my 2 students and cancer really put my concern for myself and my PTSD back into perspective, if you know what I mean. If you can, send supportive vibes to them, if you don't mind.
