See I had a boyfriend that I thought was a pretty serious thing. I thought we loved each other. Well, in the time that we were dating, something happened that triggered what my therapist called "avalanche flashbacks" they made me feel horrible. I was so depressed all the time. So I decided that I would do anything to make myself feel better. At first it was just small things like drinking soda (even though i had given them up years ago) but it gradually escaladed to bigger things...including making a huge mistake with my boyfriend who supposedly "loved me" but I realize now, that he was really just taking advantage of the situation. He saw my weakness, and he played on it.
But now my problem is still every time I have a flashback instead of finding something healthy to do to get through it I always go and find something unhealthy to do just so I'll make myself feel better, even if it's only for a few minutes.
I wish with everything in me I could go and take it all back because now I feel like a piece of trash, that no decent guy is ever going to want me because of how screwed up my life is...
and on top of it, the whole experience has only made my PTSD worse becasue it created a bunch of new problems. Trust me, intimacy is NOT the answer for coping with this.
