I live the same thing.
Til my body finally knocks me out for a few nights. THen it can start all over...
Oy.
Restful sleep to you, Ryver.
They say use headphones but I use a plug in speaker system with mine that works well and I listen just loud enough to hear it.
With nightmares, after I dealt with the underlying causes(trauma) and healed from that, they went away. I'm probably 80% better than I use to be before 5yrs. of therapy. It was worth the effort!
I understand what you're going through and I wish you well!! :)

Whenever I mentioned the nightmares and sleepless nights to my therapist she would always tell me that if I don't deal with the issues while awake they will always come out in your sleep. I didn't want to believe her but I did forge ahead and when I worked on my healing during the day (crying, working with my inner children, getting out the anger) I didn't have as many nightmares. I also started to talk to myself when I did wakeup with nightmares. I would say "It was a dream. What happened in the dream is not happening now. The dream can not hurt me". I did see over the course of time that I would recover from the dream more quickly as I kept saying this. Now, if I have a nightmare (rarely), I say this to myself and within a few seconds I am calm again.
I do hope you can get some sleep soon.
