I owe my life for my fathers "war" dog.....

While my dad (left) had served in the U.S. army he got injured and ambushed in one of his deployments with his team. Later he was sent back to the U.S. for rehabilitation. And after that his dog became a service pet for him. But the same day he took his life he took Wisp (right) with him. Wisp was a very good pet and if it wasn't for him my dad most likely would have massacred me and my mother. Wisp was very close to my dad but wasn't going to stand for my dad being a total idiot. Here's the story:
My mom starts off the fight with "why don't you care about us" he then backlashes and smacks my mom and says "I've done everything for this family and what have you done?!". She then gets up and says "we're leaving" and after this point he says "you can leave but Skii won't" so then he gets up and walks to the hallway where my bedroom was, he then continues by walking in to his own companion growling at him and me behind wisp. My dad then takes one step and wisp then darts towards him to tackle him but my dad was prepared to deal with him. While this was happening I managed to slip out of the room but as I left a very terrifying noise was made as I heard wisps last cry which still hurts me to this day.

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

I am sorry your dad took his life, war makes people sick. Please try and remember your Dad as he once was and not the way his mental illness had twisted him. He was suffering and projecting it onto you and your mom. It is indeed sad when people are sick and do not get the help they need either because it is not available or because they believe they can handle it.
I am so glad you are reaching out for help to deal with this. Please be easy on yourself, be kind to yourself and realize none of this was your fault. Keep talking and sorting and keep reaching out. Please remember to do something nice for yourself everyday. It is important to look after you right now.
Hugs
War is hell.

Gentle empathy, Skii. Hope healing happens here.
