Hello, my name is emma. im kinda new here. i've been having a problem. i keep getting the same flash back over and over again. the flash back is me when i was in 4th grade in elementary school, during dance class i messed up my part with the boy i was dancing with. for some reason i kept having trouble with this same part. i messed up about 3 times. but on the 4th time my dance teacher scream at me, like it was a crazy scream. she turned all red in the face and i got so scared i thought she was going to hit me. she was so loud. and to make it worse, we were practicing our dancing in the Auditorium so there were other grade levels. she screamed at me for a long time. until it was time to go. kids in my classed made fun of me, because our dance teacher screamed at me. i didnt have any friends so my whole class was mean to me and laughing at me. i cried a lot. im now 18 years old, and this has still affected me. now when people yell at me or just talk really loud i get so scared. i wish i had ran away while she was screaming at me. i wished i ran to my english teacher, she was always nice to me. but i didnt run beacuse i was so afriad, i just stood there not moving as she screamed and turn red in the face. i get this flash back a lot and i just get so scared and i start having panic attack.. i dont know how to make it stop. i really just want to email my dance teacher and tell her how she broke me, she messed me up. i dont want to live with this flash back forever i just want to be free, and move on and live my life.
what should i do... should i email that dance teacher and tell her what she has done to me.. i feel so lost

Woke up feeling very emotional and about to clock in at my place of employment. And can't place it all in writing but not been a good experience with my store manager or his boss. Defamation of my character is a concern. I've been losing appetite and weight. Trying to perform at work to keep myself from hospitalization as a result of toxic masculinity.

Writing about my flashbacks helps me process the emotions enough to break the feeling that I am caught in a time loop. For the especially vicious time loops, I often use those writings for various "Letting Go" rituals which range from burning the writings to sending them to various players in the trauma.
Did writing ^it^ out here help any?
I use grounding techniques and mindfulness exercises. This doesn't help during a flashback but I find if I can keep myself calm and feeling safe I am less likely to have one.
Step 1 - Learn forgiveness. Remember that people who do hurtful things are themselves hurt and its there way of transferring and dealing with their own pain
Step 2 - Try primal therapy. Its a way of releasing old emotions that are stuck in you. You can google it.
Step 3 - Once you have truly let go and come to terms with it, keep loving yourself and push forward.
Forgiveness and understanding is a powerful tool.
I find journaling and writing things out can help as well.....
If you decide you want to write her that's up to you however I would try not to have any expectations in her reply.... She may continue to be angry..... You don't know
Gentle hug while you sort it out.....xo
