My cousins took my Nintendo 3DS that I spent 3 summers saving for ($320). And personally I trusted them a lot.
I feel very betrayed/bitter towards them. Plus stealing at age 13 is definitely not acceptable nor is it at any age.
I don’t know what to do about it I definitely don’t feel like my property is safe while they are visiting and I want to confront them about it to see if they took anymore of my items. It’s not like I keep inventory of all my items throughout my house. I know I didn’t just misplace it because I had it in my room and it somehow shows up at my Grandma’s house after they left.
1) What do you think is the best approach towards stealing when its a teen? And how do I get ALL of my stuff back?
2) How can I prevent this from happening again without being paranoid?
As for what to do, first keep track of serial numbers (virtually all electronic devices will have a "model" number and a "serial" number on the back or in the battery compartment. The serial number is unique to your device.
Second, talk to your parents, than grandparents. Hopefully they will deal with it from there.
