For months now someone (or something) has been banging on my door 3 knocks (very loud) and my kids and wife have all heard it happen at our front door.

I heard it 3 times, once at 10:00pm I opened the  front door thinking someone was just pranking us with the doorbell ditch thing, then the second time was at 10:00pm I was thinking ok it’s probably still “those darn kids again” but the third time it knocked it was at 2:00am and I didn’t bother to get up because it was early in the morning and I didn’t care. But I got nervous because our door in the back had bullet holes in it the next morning and our houses gate was wide open and our camera was gone. 

My kids each had their turn and got freaked out, my wife did what I did the first time and just opened he door thinking it was a prankster.

I’m really not sure what to do because if we put a camera up it somehow goes missing, and bullet holes in our door is by far the most unnecessary thing ever. If this person ever set foot in the house our alarm would go off plus they have to get through me. 

We’ve told the police and they checked out the house and didn’t find anything besides what we showed them. And they’ve been monitoring the house while we’re gone at work and school.
