I just spoke with a psychiatrist and she thinks I have PTSD from childhood trauma I don't really know what that means because I really only thought people in the military or really abused children get it. I have 3 months before I can see a therapist. I really thought because my childhood wasn't really bad that I would just be able to get over it. I'm 32 and I have been trying to get over it since my late teens. I'm sure like anything it comes out in different ways for different people. I just zone out a lot and have an occasional nightmare or trouble sleeping. Any advice on how to deal with this in the mean time would be a welcome help. Since I didn't even know it was something I would even need help for.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Here's some info on it by an expert on this type of trauma Pete Walker

PTSD is an anxiety disorder and I find my recovery often benefits from a less specialized approach. Cross-posting in more than one forum often provides me a broader approach to managing my condition.
But that is me and every case is unique. . .
Gentle support while you find the most effective approach to your own case.
Coming to DSPTSD helps me a *lot*. I hope it can help you, too.
