I'm so sorry you are feeling this way. I have cPTSD. Hear me when I say the abuse WAS NOT YOUR FAULT! I know it feels like it but feeling aren't fact. A child never deserves to be abused no matter what the behavior is. Thinking about the past is something I struggle with as well, I think a lot of us do. Are you seeing a therapist? someone you can talk with on a regular basis to help you sort through all of this? I have been seeing therapists on and off for ten years now. I wish i could hug all the pain out of you. I'm here for you and I understand. Post as much as you like as often as you like. This is a good group of folks! Very supportive and healing! Big healing hugs to you.
i am seeing a therapist i am also on meds. thank you soo much for replying that means a lot.. because no really listens to me or really takes a chance to understand me.. so thank u...
i. am glad that people help each other on here. im glad that people can stand up for thier beliefs, and too see people be honest. im glad that i can find people nice on here and not judge mental.. i thank everyone on here for that..
As a child I used to believe the sexual abuse was a punishment because I was such a bad girl, so I understand your feelings all too well. But as purplewarrior said it is NOT YOUR FAULT, it wasn't mine either and the same goes for all survivors. The blame is entirely on the perpetrators and their helpers. And I'm willing to swear on everything that is important to me that you deserve to be understood and loved and as a child deserved to be cared for and protected. Not abused. Never.
Gentle hugs
my adopted mom said I was a psychopath for that.. but i dont care about her tho, she's a jerk... but then maybe I am a psychopath..
What she told me is that I need to give myself a break.
I learned a lot of wrong things and now I am unlearning them. I’ve been carrying these things for my entire life and that’s okay. It doesn’t make me a bad person. It doesn’t make me chikdishnor pathetic. It makes me pretty strong. But now that I see there’s a different way to live, I can learn to make changes and cope appropriately. The hardest thing for me to remember is that I can’t automatically change. I can’t expext myself to get it right the first time i try to change. I can’t expext not to fall. I can’t expect not to be scared. I can’t expext to know how to handle every type of trigger. There are many and probably many more things I don’t even recognize as ptsd symptoms. I am a work in progress and the mere fact that I am still alive, the fact that I can say anything positive about this world, that is beautiful.
I hope if nothing else you find comfort knowing that you are not alone.
