How can I tell my boyfriend what happened to me?
alternativewitch
In order to explain my situation, I guess I have to explain my trauma. From the ages of 3-7, I was sexually abused and r*ped by my stepfather. During this time, and up to the age of ten, both he and my mother severely abused me. I've told my boyfriend about everything other than the sexual abuse and r*pe, as it's something I've only recently come to terms with myself. I want to tell him, I don't want to hide it anymore and I want to be able to have someone to talk to about it. He's a r*pe survivor, so I know he'll be understanding and supportive, but I just haven't been able to. I tell him over and over that I'm going to, but I can just never make myself do it. I want to tell him in person, and I think it would be a lot easier and better that way, but I'm not going to see him for a few more months at least, and I don't want to wait that long. What should I do?

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Personally, I like breaking dilemmas like this into small, chewable chunks, then chewing each and every chunk for a very long time until I am sure I have gotten all the bones, rocks and pieces of my broken heart out of it before I swallow. What is often called, "Small bytes and long chews." It is a concept I have borrowed from other members of my healing network and it works for me.
Joining a support group qualifies as a byte. Making your first post and finding the words to phrase your question qualifies as another. By the theory of, "Small bytes and long chews," what you should do now is simply chew, slowly and gently. When you are ready for the next byte, it will be obvious to you.
Just a theory. The most important thing to remember about support groups is that you need to take what works for you and leave the rest, respectfully. There are lots of different people in the world and we need all available options to accommodate them all.
Gentle support while you find what works for you. Again, welcome to the group.
