I do not like thanksgiving weekend oly because of shopping. I do not like crowds cause I do not like very large crowds. I have a panic attack when in large crowds. Also--people are soo rude and nasty that I lose my patience.
Can anyone relate?

Oh yeah - once I was in a drug store and was standing in line, then had to drop everything I was going to buy and leave. Christmas shopping? Forget it!

Yes, very much so. I actually do all of my shopping either ahead of time or online. I will also ask others to pickup supplies for me if I know that the store they are going to is anywhere near where I do not want to be. Large groups of people are one of my worst triggers for panic attacks. Many, many hugs!

Me and my friend (who also has PTSD) did go out yesterday shopping- at a store that was not as busy and that has small sales (registers) desks throughout the store. We support each other and had a good time. I think it was important for us to go out and try doing a "normal" thing for the holidays. I cannot blame anyone for not going shopping this weekend but if you have someone to support you it can be a healing challenge if you feel up to it.

I'm doing ALL my shopping online this year. The UPS guy is my buddy this year!
