it's the last day of the academic year here on my little ship of fools. my motley crew now consists of a fifth grader, third grader and kindergartener. the extras of my own sensory perceptions are waffling between relief over taking a break from the academic grind to panic attacks over whether my tired old bones can handle the 24/7 childcare duties of summer vacation. the ups and downs of my waffling are more tiring than either extreme. can't i just pick one and make ^it^ work?
sigh. . . the heart goes where it goes. we feel what we feel. the harder i work to control those goofy emotions, the harder they vascillate.

onward through the stormy sees.

*wow fifth grade already, they’re getting older
Will they be going to visit their other grandparents for a vacation?
We're about the same age
My energy level is low a lot due to bipolar meds
I can't imagine how hard it must be at times as much as you adore them
Sending a big hug of peace and strength...xo
the first day of summer vacation has arrived. yes, there is a full venue of kid activities on the agenda. enough to give me an LFL (long fucking list) of anticipation anxiety as i ponder the list and feel the moans and groans of my geriatric bones. a prayer for strength to get through each day is part of my morning meditation, every morning. thy will, not mine, be done. letting you lead the dance. care to offer me some clues on what tune we are dancing to? just hoping.
hubs and i are pretty much in this alone, but we make one hell of a team. we'll never make a proper chick flick, but we sure can get a job done and share some non-romantic laughs in the process. we have achieved enough grounding in the local communities that we no longer suffer the isolation we did in 2019 when this trail of tears began.
methinks anticipation anxiety is the psycho demon breathing its fiery gloom over me this morning. i'm reminding myself to take life as it comes. small steps, big faith and lots of prayer.
amen to that, mujica. the facts of my 69 year physiology make my energy budget far tighter than my economic budget. as pete seegar put it,
how do i know my youth is all spent?
my get up and go done got up and went
those itsy bitsy baby steps are coming far more natural than they used to. itsy bitsy geezer steps?
