A therapy group showed me the Richard Gere movie about a bipolar man, "Mr. Jones." It was helpful because it showed his illness in a compassionate way. We also watched "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams, which may be hard to watch now because it deals with suicide. The '70s horror film "Don't Look Now" is valuable because it shows a man stuck in past trauma and how he is blinded to present realities. I also like "Lawrence of Arabia" for its sensitive portrayal of a male rape victim.
I also recommend the foreign film "Au Revoir Les Enfants"

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

It shows that it's never too late to make positive changes in ourselves and that we can change what we don't like if we choose to... We can impact others in a positive way
And I absolutely *love* "Up" by Disney, b/c it shows love, loss, and how you get a new chance for more adventures even when you think you're "past" it.... And that the knockn on your door may be renewal.
Lilly, I have not read The Shack. I just read a really painful manuscript for a friend, so I am taking time off but I will look it up and put it on my reading list:-) I've got such a long list accumulating, OMG, my Kindle's gonna blow up!
