I have driven the middle of the North American continent so many times that I don't consult the map much any more, unless I need extreme efficiency. In between my long, rambling drives, I am a total map and atlas junkie. I gaze long and fondly at all the wonderful potentials for my wandering wonders. I have a self-styled game of "Where in the World Can I Go Next?" where I gather endless packets of details about potential destinations.
When I set out from North Central Arkansas this morning, I glanced at the atlas and shugged as I said, "Ah, I am using the zoomways (aka, freeways). There will be plenty of signage to show me the way.
Putting on my Steve Urkel suspenders for my thumbs to hook on to while I look upward through my dork glasses. . . Did I say that????
Ended up back on the Mississippi River on the Mississippi Blues Trail. Oops.
Kinda poetic, though. As of the mid-day report, the Gang Blamers had still done nothing toward moving their precious thing piles. Not much need for them to pack. They are pretty much the same piles they moved in 8 months ago. Only fatter by an 8 month dust accumulation and an unknown number of new thing gathering missions. Hubs is feeling flustered enough to appreciate a bit more of what he has been leaving me with every day.
This is a drive I have often dreamed of sharing with hubs. Music history for him and a river for me. The text exchange hasn't been as fun as a glass of wine on the back porch, but. . . Still worthy of appreciation. Who knows, maybe someday he will actually drive it with me. On my own, I doubt I will ever hit the tourist sites. I just sing the old blues songs as I drive. A whole bunch of the blues and rock history was lived in this neighborhood.
Just an update. . .

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

scenic route? save that one to re-visit.
Glad you're traveling safely along, Arfie.
I think my big disorientation of the day was using the interstate. I usually don't use them. The stress levels take the fun out of it, to say nothing of the monotony. Zoomways don't have much variety on them. I am far more at home on the back roads.
No big. As always, I am letting the cosmic forces guide. I have had a downright enchanting series of encounters since I left the zoomway and resumed my back road wanders to get back on track.
The Arf just weren't built for the mobile gridlock of the interstate highways. Is it my imagination, or do zoomers really travel in packs. Vehicles of a feather seem to flock together. 18 wheelers with 18 wheelers, sporty cars with sporty cars, macho wagons with macho wagons, etc., etc.
Nah. . . Gots to be my imagination.
For sure, the quickest way to get an asshole out of your tail pipe is to just slow down. Zoom on, good buddy, zoom on. Watching your tail lights dwindle makes my day.
Discouraging part is how often I catch up with those jerks. Not on purpose, I promise. I really want them to win that race. Faster is better for getting ye gone.
Hate interstate highways. . . Can you tell?
