2. Sadly, it's obscure. It's showing on TV in Israel.
It's the TV series Prisoners of War, which is the basis of the TV series on Showtimes in the USA, Homeland.
I read about Prisoners of War, and it was so much less about war and so much more about PTSD that I ordered it on DVD. On the DVD version there's an interview with the creator of the show. He comes right out and says on camera: this show is about PTSD for the public who doesn't know enough about it.
It really is. It's been hard for me to watch, obviously, since it triggers my own memories of combat and surviving my own torture. But it's so accurate about the aftermath of nightmares, waking up in the night, flashbacks, and how all of those interfere with readjusting into family and married life.
Like I said, it's obscure. But it is uniting Israel in a positive conversation about those of us with PTSD. It gave me hope that maybe some day there will be a TV series of a movie that will speak for us here in America that well, too. It gave me hope.......

I won't watch. I don't need to know... Got enough in my head, alas. But I would like him to have a better grasp of how our heads jump from now-to-then and so on. It's hard to grasp.

Not sure if I'll watch it, it depends on how I'm feeling...I'll pass for the moment though and let him watch it alone while I catch up on work for the next little while.
