today I have to go to a 3 hour workshop on how to get a job. It is an hour drive away - which will put me in agony. Then sitting in chairs not made to support my broken back will be agony.
Worse than that, it will be a room full of people I don't know - who won't know Service Dog etiquette. I have to somehow pretend that I can go back to work.
I am so stressed about this my whole chest is in knots. If it was not a feeling of pain I have had hundreds of times before, it has all the symptoms of a heart attack. I used to go into the ER for for this, but it i panic, not my heart.

I really wish that the powers that be could come out of their nice little cubicle to see what the condition of the people they are dealing with is. I would say walk a mile in our moccasins, but these mocc's can't walk that far, not with out extreme repercussions.
As Jewells said, wish they could walk a mile in my shoes, but I can't make it a mile, either!

Sheesh , you would think people would know a service dog when they see one and use some common sense.
The workshop gave lots of good information about resumes and where to find job listings. It will help hubby out on his job search (he has to be with me. One because he drives, two because I am too scared to go in alone. 'cause that is not going to be a problem with getting employment!!).
We stopped on the way home and looked at some RVs and had pizza which we ate in the car. The moment we got home I crashed for a four hour nap!! I was absolutely exhausted. I still am, but have to get pain under control and hubby wants me to eat before going back to sleep.
thanks for all the prayers and good feelings! I made it though. Hubby said that for the first hour I looked like death warmed over, but at that point I took half my day's pain killers and after that apparently looked almost 'normal'. Sigh. I just want some time to stop and heal...

It is weird, but what breed of Service Dog you have at your side, makes a huge difference on how much trouble the average person gives. Soft cuddly looking dogs, like Misha, are magnets for everyone to want to touch. A stern looking Sheppard and people part out of your way!
And it really doesn't matter about the personality of the dog either... my great dane knew that people messing with her stressed me out - and when people would come up to her, her hackles would go up and her whole posture was one of "come any closer and I will take off your face" - not that it ever stopped or even slowed down anyone! I personally would not approach a dog who had hackles raised!
hehehe and Misha goes one step more in the cute department. When people pet my dog as we walk by, we call it a 'walk by petting' Misha gives 'walk by cleaning' to any small children!!
