I fly back to the USA tomorrow from Uruguay after visiting where I was car bombed at 9 and raped twice at 10, the ways I got PTSD along with weekly family violence growing up. My best USA friend came with me and helped me with my PTSD exposure therapy.
In my meditation time today I asked the universe for a way to thank you all for supporting me in this. I posted every day while here and got Daily Strength.
So after my meditation I got ready to jump into the shower and turned on my iPod for some background music. Guess what played?
"Going Home," by Leonard Cohen. If you substitute my online name "Muji" for the name "Leonard" in the song's lyrics, it says exactly what's going on. I really am "going home without my sorrow, going home sometime tomorrow, going home to where its better than before as I go home to my USA home now from my former home in Uruguay.
Tears of thanks came to my eyes as I listened to the little nice surprise that the universe gave me as this song from my iPod put words to whats happening today as I prepare to fly back home to the USA.
I also got a little chuckle about how the voice of God in the song gently calls the guy in the song a lazy bastard living in a suit. Ha! That applies to me, Muji, too, in a way thats still okwe all have our foibles.
It speaks for me in that I'd like to write an anthem for us all now out of this experience. But I can only say thank you, even though it's not enough.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Already looking forward to next year's trip, if kidney disease continues to hold off dialysis. Once that happens, I'll bet I can still make advance dialysis arrangements, right?
It's such a blessing to visit here these days, after so much fear and war and a lifetime of PTSD nightmares and flashbacks, and experience such peace. Even if only for 2 weeks.
So nice to share it with you who know how rare peace is for us who have PTSD, too. So very nice.
