Sometimes I think the hardest part of change is finding a new activity to fill the void left by the habit set I am trying to change.

Hubs and my Eldest Son (37) are still doing their co-dependant crack drama in the Southwest while I breathe a guilty sigh of relief to be in the Northeast doing volunteer work instead of taking my too-long-established maternal role in the drama. The guilt comes from a sense that I am neglecting my part in the family life. I am not too commited to those guilt feelings. This drama has been cycling for more than 20 years. It ain't getting any prettier for the practice. I am feeling more commited to the relief of having volunteer work to focus on while the other grown-ups do the dizzying dance without me in a remote location.
