FF Door slammed on me in anger
Last week I posted about how my PTSD has been triggered for a month now by prurigo nodularis, my kidney disease symptom that makes my skin crawl as if I were being swarmed and stung by bees. My kidney damage is causing nerves to die that hurt like that all over my skin.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prurigo_nodularis
I wrote that 4 doctors I saw in the last week--including a dermatologist for his skin specialty and a neurologist for his nerve specialty--did no good. Nor have over the counter and prescription creams.
However, some of you have had this symptom, too, and a student of mine who has had it came and talked to me. So at least I wasn't alone, and that solidarity helped me get through teaching my classes pushing through bee swarming and bee stinging sensations all the time. Your solidarity also helped me with how my PTSD was getting triggered by my insomnia from it.
I teach nursing students death and dying classes, and the 2nd of the 5 stages of grief is anger. I was gunshy about teaching on anger in my Monday, Wednesday, Friday classes last Friday but it was on my syllabus. Your support helped me do it, and I posted back here afterward that I had a great class.
I teach a Tuesday/Thursday class, too. I taught it today. Since things went well last Friday, when I taught my lecture on anger today I thought it would go well today, too. I as wrong. A student who failed the class last semester showed up out of the blue. In front of all of the other students, he demanded that I give him last semester's tests again. When I said I couldn't, he left in a rage and slammed the door behind him. It scared me.
Then, I was left to teach in fear on anger to the class after that. My PTSD by then was fully triggered by his door slamming rage. As I write this now after school, as happens nightly I'm also feeling that prurigo nodularis symptom of bees stinging me all over, too.
Could I have your support again to go back to teach my classes for the rest of the week? This time I'm not clicking the "I am having a crisis" box with my mouse, but I am feeling fragile.

Hiya My internet is changing today and I'm not sure how long the switch over will take, I'm hoping 24 hours at the most, but I'm probably being too optimistic We are changing to another company and going full fibre for the internet. But at least it's changing to the one payment rather than the payment for the home landline phone and a payment for the internet. So I'm not going to be on here...

Name something you hated as a kid that you love as an adult.

Go teach. That's what you do. Hope that the raging fool stays away. "They" usually aren't that dumb to keep threatening in public. They lurk.
If I've said stuff out of line, I apologize. I'm a stubborn, stubborn person and it works for me. I hope you feel as empowered as your students must feel since you are their mentor. Teachers rule.:)
Much support to you & a big hug
wishing you days of peace.
Much support.
I send you snow packs to drive away your "bees" and remove the sting of that door slam. A loud noise alone would send me into th eceiling some day....
Continued support, muji. The week's more than half over. You can do this.
