Does the sadness ever really go away?

I had a moment of joy when my son came home. But the sadness in my heavy heart never goes away! I'm so sad all the time. Then I have to switch to go to work. :(((((((

The small blessings in life count too. Try to never forget that. Many, many hugs and best wishes!

I used to cry all the time, then I got close to crying all the time, and now it is a swelling of sadness and yearning. It has gotten better, perhaps it will continue to get smaller. I have to believe it will.

My psychologist wanted to baker act me today. We fought about it i her office for a while. I fianallly had to commit that i would not cut any more.my veins are taking a beating. I so wanted to be hospitalized so I would not have to deal with all the stres, but I promised her and later went to work. I want toproveto my kids that I'm ok. but inall reality I just want to die.

Small steps. These feelings did not arise overnight and they will not go away overnight either. Sometimes it is the darkest path that we must walk, before we can find some relief from the demons that haunt us. And PTSD doesn't make it any easier. Take it one day at a time and remind yourself, every day, that you are making progress. Even when it doesn't feel that way.

Things will get better, but in the mean time you need to try to make yourself see the positive, you have a baby, you woke up today & so on....If you tell yourself your really happy long enough eventually you will come to believe it :-)

I have this notion that if we can get high enough above our lives to look down on them with compassion and mercy, instead of living inside the worst of the neverending feelings, that we can get rid of the sorrow for periods of time. Then we take that one second of time and stretch it as long as we can. I do this: See this second coming in at me right now, it's perfect, flawless, not bogged down with my stuff, it's free, it's new, it's mine. I let it in. Feel it as pure and good. Live inside of there for as long as I can and I find places from there to go to lift my spirits again in a different way. It's a matter of stepping off the same path and doing something different, totally different with your mind and your perceptions.
