I don't think the memory/pain/nightmare 'goes away'. I think it eventually turns into a 'ghost'. A tiny fragment, without as much power. A wisp on the wind that carries us along in life.
But I have to agree with what has already been said...Therapy can be a really good way to learn to cope and understand what you are going through.
Time can be a great healer, if you take deep breaths and hold on to patience and hope.
I know I say this in alot of posts (Sorry!) but I also truly beleive that creative outlets are very healing. Another thing that has helped me is getting more involved with charity work...It gives me so much peace and clarity to make something for someone else who is suffering.
My thoughts are with you, and just remember...
Don't give up. You deserve to have a beautiful life, and not have your life taken from you.
Best Wishes, Lily
sorry thats probably not helped you at all. xx
I used to try to fight off the flashbacks but then I would have horrible nightmares instead. So I just had to deal with it.
But it really does get better with time.
mine has not got any easier, i hope that it will, but i dout it.
