I hope I could help you a bit. Just try and see how it goes, I'm sure you'll be fine. Wish you the best for it.
I don't remember life pre-trauma, but I do know that even with all that, I did well in life professionally, and so have many others here. We have people who are currently going back to school, teach, and more, so they'll have better advice, but just know that even *trying* is a huge success, okay?
Some of the basic classes you will take I have had and yes they can shake you, but so far, have not stopped me. Since I am mostly self taught in art I also mixed in art classes toward that degree and used those to temper my anxiety of other classes.
If you are DX'd go to the office of disability support and see what they can offer, even if it is only a letter for professors. I was allowed to record lectures if my PTSD was tripping and listen later when I was alone. Yes sometimes I had to leave the room, not often in three years, but my prof's understood and it was only to breath and gather myself...I always came back. Grades are fairly good, but I work on them real hard and take a lot of notes. I am too old to have to take the same class again.
Just like trauma we learn in different ways..what we see, tactile what we touch and discussions with others of what we perceive..all these put information in our brain by different routes. My doodles in my notebooks can tell a whole story where my hands would have to have wrote two pages in notes.
Use what you have as skills any way that helps.
Psychology of Education I think I should have taken first year, Stress management, I did and has paid off many times...it may in a list of optional required credits under Humanities.
The support I get here is priceless.
Welcome and support to you.
