A week ago yesterday I think, I finally got my new pain doc to change my pain meds... I went from just opiates that were not working anymore, to gabapentin (which is probably spelled wrong). I am having every side effect in the book, er that I think is possible.
Emotionally I am just numb. I get breakthrough moments that are just all over the place. I might just start laughing, or crying. Sometimes I am frantic, but my anitpanic meds work to make that go away.
I am just, I don't know, it feels like I am on the edge of something and about to fall into an abyss. Some of the time I am lucid. I can ttalk and tryp, but right now typing is hard. I have do depth perception. My head feels like it is not attached. If I close my eyes I can't tell you what way is up and what way is down.
the last two nights Misha has slept either right next to me, or partially on top of me. She HATES sleeping on the bed as it is too hot. I have spent more time with 100lbs of Misha in my lap while we drive then I can count. Right now she is leaning against me and barking warning for everyone to stay away, as if she can chase the frog from my brains.
The problem is that I think all these symptoms, even if they don't go away, are worth it. Two weeks ago, being up and active for 20 minutes in a day would put me in enough agony to make me have to take the next day off any activity. For the last week I have been active every day, up to six hours of activity and my overall pain level is less than a tenth of what it was...
I just have to get usd to this new pan md. I can't trust what I see or hear right now - or where the floor is. Why would someone feel like this on purpose???

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

I'm not thinking the trick for driving on LSD is good to include, but add it anyway...just spread the road out with your mind, really wide.
For LSD this does work...O.o
I'm hoping the side-effects pass. I note lyrica, AKA pregabalin, has similar effects, works similarly. I don't know if the VA. Covers it, or if it would work, or have side effects similar to what you are having, or even be tolerated. That would be questions for your doc.
Sympathies.
It is not my right to put someone else's life in danger by driving under the infulance of anything.
Oddly enough, taking my opiates has partially cleared my brain.

So, or no, gentle hugs. Hope you feel better soon.
I am feeling better. My system is getting used to the meds. It is desperation that lets me cope with icky side effects. I have been trapped by pain for so long I don't care what it takes to get away...
Luckily I am down to a bit of neasua and some light headedness - but less than when I was just on opiates.
hugs and love
