I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

i have CPTSD. that is the kind that is harder to get a dx for. it is called complex post traumatic stress and is or has, man, the language is evolving but i want to try to be understandable, - it meant, when a person grew up being exposed to traumas, being traumatized - as you were, when you were raped as a child - i am so very sorry that happened to you when you were just a little kid.
so you suffered complex post traumatic stress as you grew up being traumatized. then you had - multiple traumatic experiences as a 911 operator, certainly the two you have shared. you may remember more as time goes on.
i have, many of us have, remembered more when time went on. sometimes one trauma that we are trying to stuff so that we can continue to carry on as usual, is covering others and eventually they come up or out. at least for many people they do.
you brought yourself to a good place for support and kindness. there are so many good and kind people here. gentle hugs and a welcome to the group, i'm Lilly.

I subscribe to the notion that PTSD is more about how we process trauma than the trauma itself. My own therapy work centers on learning new, more effective ways to process trauma.
No doubt about it. The anxiety and panic attacks suck like an industrial hoover. Gentle support while you find your way out of the suckage.
