For example, there's a woman who had trouble losing weight despite supposedly eating very few calories a day, and since metabolisms cannot defy physical laws, she was definitely eating more than what she told me. A person who has a healthy relationship to food doesn't restrict their food intake to drastic extremes or hide what they actually eat. I wondered if she, too, had disordered eating or an eating disorder, and might do better to see a therapist instead of a trainer. It made me sad to think that I could only do so much to help.
Develop a stress relieving routine, stretches, Heart strengthening and core building incorporating QI Gong or a similar discipline....this can include breathing structures in them. Then ask current clients to invite a friend they may have that could use some tips. You may gain 1/3 of those as clients. Just remember to ask for appointment dates for individual time at the end of each duo
session.
The other thing is the nutrients. I know you may have problems with this because of what you stated. But every system in our body needs good building block, since our cell structure breakdown and replace in as short a time as two weeks.
Here is an article to help define what are needed. Then look at your options where you work and find a favorite that meets those needs.
Incorporate the language during your sessions. " use those B vitamins and balance what you are using"
Years ago I took a nutrition class, then also the number of breaks I have had...A,B's Calcium collagen builders, Vit C (juices)D's and E's (fish, olive, almond oils) are all necessary to maintain current cell structure and produce new cells. Add in the minerals.
Think of it as helping them taking the next step in getting the most out of your sessions.Don't feel bad about offering this step, most will feel the difference. Just chart it when they buy., remind them when they may do for refills... "How are you doing on your supplements?"
As for the training for your future plan in therapy, get your ducks in a row and apply for grants and any work assisted programs you can get. Nutrition may be covered their, but it is also very important in mental health. Low Vitamin D shows as increased depression. Also stress burns a lot of Vit. C (18 oranges worth) which our bodies do not store, so that has to be taken in regularly. A's for cramping...bone and muscle. Fast food is not nutritional, so if they can't cook the products are even more important.
Then check out programs that do what you want to do nearby, get your foot in the door even as a part time associate ( since they may also cover classes). Find out what they require that you have to get to do the job. Community colleges will normally be cheaper. Then take your classes in the evening or online.
Hugs of support. Take your vitamins too....Brain work takes a lot even if you are reading.
