Birthday Fusions

I am 4 years and one day younger than the oldest of my five brothers. I suspect somebody told him he got a baby sister for his birthday. I don't care to do the research, but how many four year old kids want to hear that? Whatever the evers of those whats, my brother and I shared birthdays growing up. Big brother didn't much like sharing birthdays with kid sis. Proof unavailable, but I suspect I was terrified of my birthday before I knew what a birthday was. This brother committed suicide in 1982. I still feel his birthday more than I feel my own. Do I have to have a birthday again this year? Can't I just let it be just another tick of the clock?


I am officially 63 years old today. Wondering if I should find a way to let my birthday be mine.

I never understood the concept of bithdays. I've never celebrated one so that could color my opinion but what is so grand about a group of actors standing around a flaming pastry while chanting a song and watching someone spit breath upon fire to eliminate it? it's a ritual.
I think if the day of your birth means something to you then do something only for you. small or big. something special to you. leave out the actors.

I'm not big on holidays (holy days), in general. In my life, the great events happen of their own accord, when and where the ifs are in alignment. Seems to me that trying to force them according to a pre-determined date and shape is yet another pre-meditated resentment in the making.

But. . . I am also a multiply certified psycho. . . I is what I is and I ain't what we ain't. I gots noble intents.

What a wonderful fearful day it is, because you were born! I have a bday close to my older sister , we always celebrated together and we both hated it. Most 4 year olds live babies I am sure he was very happy to have you around. Hugs

I can certainly understand how having a birthday whose date is only 1 day away from a sibling who committed suicide would send a person sorting once a year at least, arfie. All I can say is that along with everything else it's an opportunity for drawing a portrait in contrasts. After having been raised a war child, I was certainly pleasantly surprised to find myself being 59 years old. So I'm very proud that you, after all you survived as a little one, and then on the streets as a teen, are my friend here as a mom, a wife, and such a great support to so many here on DS PTSD. Que los cumplas feliz!

One perk I found in my miserable childhood is that aging is a clear improvement on the theme of my life. Becoming too old for the sort of folks of both genders who prey on children was a full blessing to my senses.

Hugs and belated best of wishes arfie. Yeah age does weed out the predators of the young, that and learning to spot their game.
I thought about you yesterday and even looked at the map again wishing you peace on the waters. But in an instant I was gone again. I am hoping that I will get my sense of time back to manageable levels soon.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
