Ouch. Wifi was out so I was off of DSPTSD for a day the day before yesterday. I don't know if it's direct cause and effect, but it looks like daily PTSD maintenance must be essential for me because missing a day of PTSD support here led to my having BAD PTSD flashbacks. They were directly about the worst of my several traumas, the time when trained military professional torturers tortured me in Uruguay when I was a 15 year old missionary kid in a war zone abroad.
I don't expect anyone to have ever heard of Uruguay nor of what happened there, but it was like in this film trailer. What happened to me was what happened to the 3 guys depicted in the film, and one of them in the trailer, Huidobro, helped me in my PTSD recovery for 31 years until he passed away from old age in 2016.

Huidobro prepared me for how we could go on and have good lives as torture survivors but how PTSD would always be with us, too. That's why he never let go of me for 31 years and stuck by me. It's been 6 years since his passing in 2016 and I've worked through the grief of losing him as my father figure in PTSD recovery. But I missed him a lot yesterday when I had torture flashbacks bad again.

Does anyone here have a comfort item you carry with you when you go out? For example this is my doll, Annie, and I've recently been bringing her with me when I run errrands flor have an appointment. Holding her comforts me. I've bought her clothes, crocheted for her, I recently bought a personalized blanket with her name on it. Just wondering if anyone else has a comfort item.
